   • A one-time annual CDL Member Fee of $30 will be applied to each registered student.

• A $30 Performance fee will be added to ALL Performance Classes.

• A $60 Festival fee will be added to ALL Festival Classes. *F

• A $90 Competitive fee will be added to ALL Competition Classes. *C

           A $60 Training fee will be added to All Skipping programs – programs include Provincial and National body memberships 

• Festival Entry Fees and Competition Entry Fees  will added to accounts in November**

• Accelerate Ballet, Accelerate Jazz and Acro Tech classes are Non-Performance and do not perform in our year-end recital.

• All Full Year Skipping Classes Perform in the year-end recital.

• Member Registration, Performance, Festival and  Competitive fees are non-refundable.

Similar to gymnastics, this class teaches dance “Tricks”, extra steps outside of traditional dance technique for choreography and Skipping “Powers” Skills for Competitive Skipping routine enhancement.

If your child enjoys tumbling, wants to learn cartwheels, round-offs, aerials and other acrobatic skills to incorporate into dance choreography and skipping routines.


By teacher selection and skills assessment only.

Competitive Acro requires enrolment in Acro Tech for skill development as well as either a Ballet or Jazz class to help develop dance transitions for choreography.

Advanced stretching and conditioning to develop usable flexibility.

Building on fundamental Jazz technique and theory.

If your child has shown an interest in advancing their technique, in competing, or really enjoys Jazz and wants more training this program is an asset for them.

Focus on Jump and Turns and classical jazz technique and theory.

If your child is competing in any Jazz or Lyrical class or auditioning for CDLC this class is mandatory to advance their technique and be competition ready.

Primary 2 / Primary 3 / Novice 1

Accelerate Ballet Classes are technique and theory focused classes.

Dancers will train from September to June to potentially participate in Classical Ballet

Examinations through the Edmonton School of Ballet.  Anticipated Examination Fee

In February dancers will partake in an exam try-out being observed from an instructor outside of the studio, if technically strong enough, dancers will be entered into May or June exams.

Dancers in the Accelerate program are not guaranteed to take the exam and must work hard to achieve a technical standard to do so.

If your child is competing in any Ballet or Modern class or auditioning for CDLC this class is mandatory to advance their technique and be competition ready.

The Accelerate Ballet program is designed for students who wish to:

Catch technique up to peer age group if returning to dance or beginning dance later than peers.

Enter the competitive program for Jazz, Lyrical, Modern or Ballet.

  Take syllabus exams to help with performance        quality and receive constructional feedback

  Pursue dance as a career either as a dance educator, professional dancer in a company or in a BFA program at University

– Take ballet to supplement other sports such as skating, gymnastics, synchronized swimming

Minimum 1 year experience

Current CDL dancers are recommended by instructors to Festival classes. Dancers new to CDL may book an assessment time.  Dancers will be entered into 1 local festival. Festival Entry fees are not included in Registration Accelerate Ballet is highly recommended for Festival Jazz, Ballet, Tap and Modern.  Festival classes provide additional performance opportunity.
*C – Competitive

Instructor Recommendation

Current CDL dancers are recommended by instructors to Competitive classes. Dancers new to CDL may book an assessment time. Dancers will be entered into 3 local competitions. Competition Entry fees are not included in Registration

Competitive solos and duets are by instructor selection

Competitive Requirements:

Ballet: Accelerate Ballet

Jazz: Accelerate Jazz, Accelerate Ballet and Performance Ballet

Lyrical: Accelerate Jazz, Accelerate Ballet and Performance Ballet

Modern: Required Minimum 1 additional Ballet

Tap: Recommended Ballet or Jazz

Hip Hop: Recommended 1 additional Hip Hop

Acro: Accelerate Jazz or Performance Jazz, Accelerate Ballet or Performance Ballet

COMPANY – By Audition Only                                 Must be enrolled in Competitive Jazz and/or Competitive Ballet Technique

Dancers must audition to be placed in up to 4 Large group competitive dances. Competition Entry fees are not included in Registration

If your child shows a large passion for dance and loves to perform and compete

Advances Technique, Artistry and Ability to pick up choreography.  Fundraising for the CDLC is mandatory to assist in costuming cost and additional competition entry fees.
