Attendance to CDL Dance Intensives is crucial to maintain advances in technique made during the regular season.  Dancers wanting to compete for 2019/2020 will be required to attend a minimum of 1 week of Summer Intensive.  Registration for Summer of Dance 2019 and Back to Dance 2019 will open November 15, 2018.

Registration for Dance Dance Resolution 2019 will open September 1, 2018.  CDL Competitive Dancers receive 10% off the regular enrolment fee

Accelerate Ballet and Accelerate Jazz classes are mandatory for Competitive Dancers.  Accelerate classes are recommended for Festival Dancers and highly encourage for Performance dancers wanting to begin competing in the following season, spaces are available in these classes, please contact the studio to register or register online.

**All Competitive and Festival Classes also perform at the year end show – Together We Dance on June 8 & 9.  Dancers competing in Solos, Duets or Trios outside of a weekly class MUST earn a Special Award at a competition to be added to the year-end show.

This year we have classes listed as C* – Competitive and F* – Festival.  If recommended to either of these options competing is mandatory, please note the additional fees which are not included in the tuition.  If you do not wish your child to compete this season, please let us know and we will make a class recommendation for the appropriate Performance class.

* Entry fees ~ to be applied in November once entry registrations are confirmed

Solos~ approximately $60-$80 per dancer/ per dance / per competition

Duets ~ approximately $40-$60 per dancer/ per dance / per competition

Groups ~ approximately $30-$50 per dancer/ per dance / per competition

* Additional costume expenses ~ we try very hard to stick within our budget, however sometimes this is not possible.  Competition Costumes contain purchased items from catalogs or stores.  Balances on kept items will be billed to the dancer accounts once the final orders have arrived in March.  Festival classes are costume rentals and must be returned.  Please note that our costuming is done in a way to alleviate potential expenses of an additional $130 per costume.

* Parking – some competition facilities have paid parking

* Spectator Fees – some competitions charge an admission fee or a program fee

* Most competitions provide a professional photographer / videographer with photos and videos available for purchase.  Please note personal photos and videos are not permitted to be taken in theatres.  Do to copyright,  studios can be fined and / or disqualified from the competition if caught filming or posting on Facebook or other social media sites.  Spectators from CDL who cause any type of disqualification to our students will be responsible for the reimbursement of their competition entry fees.



~ A MINIMUM OF ONE HOUR PRIOR TO THEIR START TIME IF COMPLETELY READY TO WARM-UP AND PERFORM.  Please pay close attention to the arrival times noted on the competition lists posted in the studio.


**Please note that competitions may run to a maximum of 45 minutes ahead.  Instructors will make every effort to notify dancers in such a case.  Please ensure your dancer is on time so they may properly prepare for a great performance.
